Here you find screenshots from C-filter labels (FAM, HEX,TET) analyzed with G5 spectral, an unsupported combination.
  • Supported G5 run is FAM, VIC, NED and PET with LIZ labeled size standard
  • In this example we analyzed FAM, HEX, and TET labeled fragments in a G5 run.

Dye Looks like... Comments

FAM analyzed with G5 filter
Size standard: GS 500 LIZ

  • FAM also part of G5 set, no problems here.
  • FAM = blue
  • LIZ standard OK
HEX analyzed with G5 filter
Size standard: GS 500 LIZ

  • HEX interferes with FAM (blue)
  • HEX visible in VIC channel (green)
  • HEX visible in NED channel (black/yellow)
  • HEX interferes with PET (red)
  • LIZ standard OK (orange)
TET analyzed with G5 filter
Size standard: GS 500 LIZ

  • TET visible in FAM channel (blue)
  • TET visible in VIC channel (green)
  • TET interferes with NED (black/yellow)
  • TET visible in PET channel (red)
  • LIZ standard OK (orange)

Conclusions:

  • HEX and TET are not compatible together in filter G5 run!

  • HEX alone OK - use green or yellow channel in GeneMapper

  • TET alone OK - use blue, green or red channel in GeneMapper
